Tim Kane
Lebanon, Connecticut
First PMC: 1998
Growing up, Tim Kane heard tales about people being seized by their destiny, their vocations striking like a bolt from the blue. For Tim, however, there was no calling. He studied horticulture. He took a job at a nursery. He made a living and a life. In his spare time, the former college cross-country runner trained for road races, dualathons, and since 1998, the Pan-Mass Challenge. No stranger to victory Tim has won more than his share of races- Tim's greatest satisfaction now comes from his longevity. "I'm just thrilled to still be able to do what I want to do with the people that I want to do it with," says Tim, currently President of the Mohegan Striders Running Club in southern Connecticut. "After a certain age. Being able to do what you like to do is a lot more interesting than trying to win."
"I found this industry. I said 'Okay, I'll give it a try.' "
