Jon Denekamp
Wrentham, Massachusetts
First PMC: 1990
Jon Denekamp has seen lots of changes since he started work
in a small screw machine shop a few weeks before he turned
20. "Product that was considered good at the time wouldn't
even be acceptable today," he says. "Everything is so much
more sophisticated, and the standards so much higher." Denekamp
spent 25 years stamping out semi conductors for Texas instruments
before moving to an automotive tool shop last year. Son- and
nephew- of lifelong toolmakers, Denekamp does most of his
own bike maintenance, and frequently blows past all water
stops riding from Sturbridge to Bourne on day one of the PMC.
"I like speed," he says. "And I like being out there on my
own."
"I do like making things."
