First PMC: 1983
Barry Davis started in the video business as a summer intern
at a Worcester cable company, and honed his skill filming
fires and motor vehicle accidents for several area fire departments.
A few years later, the self-taught professional was working
as master control operator and weekend newscast director at
New England Cable News. "I loved it," he recalls, "but in
the end it was difficult to watch the same newscast fives
times every shift." Today, Davis films surgical procedures
at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare Campus
in Worcester. This summer, as in summers past, he can be seen
wearing his PMC riding jersey, pedaling on his trainer at
Auburn shopping centers to raise funds for the Jimmy Fund.
"Sometimes it's hard to watch bad news."
